Custom Sheet Metal

Custom Roof Sheet Metal
Made to Fit Your Building

Copings, edge metal, flashings and custom profiles fabricated in Bloom's own full metal shop, measured on your building and made to fit its edges, transitions and drainage details.

Roof Edges, Transitions and Drainage Details

Roof-related sheet metal helps complete the edges, wall transitions and drainage details of a low-slope roofing system. The right profile and attachment depend on the existing dimensions, substrate and project specifications.

Bloom's scope includes custom roof-related metalwork rather than full metal roof systems. Share drawings, photographs, approximate quantities and installation requirements so the team can confirm the fabrication scope and next step.

How it works

How a Sheet Metal Project Runs

Fabrication is carried out in Bloom's own Brighton shop. Fabrication and delivery timing are confirmed for each project.

  1. 01

    Confirm details and dimensions

Review drawings, photographs or field measurements, depending on what the project includes.

  2. 02

Define the fabrication and installation scope

Agree the profiles, materials, quantities and whether installation is included.

  3. 03

    Coordinate delivery, fit and completion

Schedule fabrication and delivery, and coordinate fit and installation where they are part of the scope.

What we fabricate

Coping and edge metal

Parapet coping, edge metal and fascia that finish the roof perimeter.

Counterflashing and wall flashing

Metal that covers the top of base flashing where the roof meets a wall.

Pitch pans and penetration details

Metal details for irregular penetrations such as supports and conduit clusters.

Scuppers and drainage details

Scuppers, gutters, downspouts and related drainage components.

Copper and historic detailing

Copper and custom work for historic and landmark buildings, where the project calls for it.

What Affects a Quote

Sheet metal quotes depend on quantities and details more than roof area.

  • Quantities

Linear footage of perimeter, wall and drainage runs, and the number of pieces.

  • Material and gauge

The metal and its thickness affect material cost and forming labor.

  • Unique profiles

Many runs of one profile differ from many different profiles that each need to be developed.

  • Substrate and access

Parapet and wall conditions, hoisting and access affect installation time.

  • Fabrication only or installed

Whether the scope includes field measurement and installation, or fabrication and delivery only.

FAQ

Questions About Custom Sheet Metal

What do you need to quote a fabrication job?

Drawings, photographs or a sample of the existing profile, approximate quantities and the date the metal is needed. The team reviews what you have and confirms what else is needed.

Can you match an existing profile?

Often, depending on review of the existing metal, its dimensions and the available material. A sample or field measurement helps; the team will confirm whether a match is practical.

Can you fabricate for a roof you did not install?

Yes, subject to review of the existing conditions and the scope. If the underlying substrate needs attention, that is raised before the metal is quoted.
