Qualifications for Your Commercial Roofing Project
Your project may require specific manufacturer approvals, training records and vendor documentation. Bloom can review those requirements with you and identify the information relevant to the proposed scope and assigned team. Bloom has installed more than 150 million square feet since 1979 with virtually zero premature failures.

What to Verify, and How to Request It
Qualifications fall into three groups. Each answers a different question about your project.
| Qualification category | What to verify for your project | How to request records |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer documentation | The approval that applies to the specified roof system and warranty. Approvals are granted by system, not as a blanket status for every product. | Send the specification or existing system type. Bloom returns the manufacturer documentation that applies. |
| People and training | Training relevant to the proposed scope and the team assigned to your project. | Ask for the training records of the crew proposed for your project. |
| Industry relationships | Membership and labor-agreement status: NRCA, SMACNA Detroit and Roofers Local 70. These are relationships, not awards or project authorizations. | Request confirmation along with your vendor documentation. |
| Licensing | Bloom is licensed in 27 states. | License copies are provided for your vendor review. |

People and training
How crews are trained
Bloom is a signatory contractor with Roofers Local 70 in Howell, Michigan. Its three-year apprenticeship curriculum includes safety and task training such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction, fall protection, rigging and signaling, hazard communication, CPR and first aid, Asbestos Class II roofing and torch safety.
Certified Roof Repair Technician program: Bloom’s repair work is carried out by technicians certified through the program.
A curriculum describes what the apprenticeship covers. The cards held by the people assigned to your project are the records to request.

Questions About Qualifications
Does a manufacturer approval cover every product that manufacturer makes?
No. Approvals are granted for specific systems and warranty programs. Share your specification or the existing roof system, and Bloom will identify the documentation that applies to that scope.
Can we see training records for the crew assigned to our project?
Yes. Ask for the records relevant to the proposed scope and team as part of your vendor review. Requirements vary by facility, so include your checklist with the request.
Does a manufacturer approval guarantee warranty coverage?
A manufacturer approval allows a contractor to install a system under that manufacturer’s warranty program. Coverage depends on the warranty terms, the approved scope and the manufacturer’s own requirements.
